Vice Dean Jing GAO and from the International School of Economics and Management Participated in International Exchange and Cooperation Discussions

On the morning of March 27th, the Deputy Party Secretary and Vice President of our university, Zhichao YIN, met with a delegation from Rutgers University, including Vice President Eric Garfunkel, at the Boyuan Building. Both sides engaged in a deep and friendly exchange regarding the enhancement of international cooperation between the two universities. Vice Dean Jing GAO from the International School of Economics and Management and Associate Professor Yaqing XIAO (who holds a Ph.D. in Finance from Rutgers University) from the International School of Economics and Management attended the meeting.

Zhichao YIN welcomed Eric Garfunkel's visit and briefly introduced our university's basic situation. He expressed the hope that the two universities will continue to deepen international cooperation in areas such as talent cultivation, faculty exchange, and research collaboration. He stated that he looks forward to advancing cooperation on student exchange programs at the undergraduate, master's, and doctoral levels, exploring new models for joint talent cultivation, and establishing a comprehensive, multi-level, and long-lasting partnership between the two universities.

Eric Garfunkel introduced Rutgers University, including details about various campuses, strengths in academic programs, student admissions, and international exchanges. He mentioned that the Capital University of Economics and Business is an important partner for Rutgers University in China and expressed the desire for both universities to swiftly resume existing collaborative projects in the post-pandemic era. He also emphasized the importance of enhancing faculty exchanges and further exploring student exchange programs in various fields to deepen international cooperation between the two universities. 

In the subsequent meeting, Jing GAO and Yaqing XIAO briefly introduced the basic information about the International School of Economics and Management, the overview of international exchanges, and the desired directions for cooperation. They also expressed a strong willingness to collaborate with Rutgers University on student exchange programs.

The meeting was chaired by Haixia XIE, the Director of the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange. Attendees at the meeting included Xingcai LIU, Director of the Rutgers University Beijing Center; Yao GAO, Senior Program Manager at the International Office; Huaying WEI, Deputy Director of the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange at Capital University of Economics and Business; Yue SUN, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Labor Economics; Yuchun ZHANG, Vice Dean of the School of Statistics; and other staff members.
