University of California Santa Cruz Conducts International Cooperation Talks with the International School of Economics and Management
On the afternoon of June 6th, Assistant Professor Dong WEI from the University of California, Santa Cruz, was invited to visit our school. The two parties engaged in discussions regarding the '4+1' international master's program. Vice Deans Jing GAO and Weiming LI, along with Deputy Party Secretary Meihui WANG and Associate Professor Bin WU from the Economics Department, attended the meeting.
At the beginning of the meeting, Vice Dean Jing GAO extended a warm welcome to Dong WEI. She introduced the basic situation of the college, including undergraduate teaching, international cooperation and exchange programs, training plans, course offerings, and the study and employment situation of post-graduate students. She expressed the hope that both sides could promote the implementation of the student exchange programs in the future and expand cooperation and exchanges in various aspects, such as academic visits and research cooperations.
Dong WEI introduced the basic situation of the University of California, Santa Cruz, including an overview of the college, popular majors, and exchange programs. He hopes that both institutions can engage in in-depth communication, initiate student exchange programs, and further promote international cooperation between the two institutions. He also expressed that there are more possibilities for international cooperation between both parties.
In the future, faculty members from both sides will negotiate the details of cooperation, including curriculum, application processes, student selection and admission requirements, student numbers, course credit transfer, student management, and accommodation, etc. The next step is to expedite the implementation of the '4+1' program.
The '4+1' program with the University of California, Santa Cruz allows students to study at Capital University of Economics and Business for the first four years to earn a bachelor's degree and then study at the University of California, Santa Cruz for one year to obtain a master's degree in economics.
